The visit--Mrs Gaur
Polymers are usually formed from hydrocarbons, hydrocarbon derivatives or sometimes from silicon. Polymers are the basis not only for numerous natural materials, but also for most of the synthetic plastics that one encounters every day. Polymer may be found naturally or these can be made using sophisticated techniques. The examples of natural polymers include rubber, hair, sand and wool and some of the examples of synthetic polymers are Formica, Synthetic Rubber, Dacron, Nylon, Teflon etc.Polymers are the result of composition of more than one type of monomer and usually they can be altered in numerous ways. The variety of natural polymers can generally be found everywhere and it is very difficult to spend a day without encountering a natural polymer. The use of Synthetic fabric in 21st century is very extensive and these have collectively revolutionized human existence. We at KV,BHU did a little field tour with the students of class 11th, visiting the polymer factory located in Rampur. We saw how the factory produces different types of polymers. In all, it was an extremely overwhelming tour in which my students of class 11th 'A' got many things to learn and they had fun.You may also visit the website which students of 11th 'A' have designed on polymers..
